SKILLFIT

PART 1

Customer/User Job-to-be-Done or Problem

When Chambers of Commerce and Economic Developers want to understand the usage, skill insights, and activity of SkillFit users, they need access to analytics data, so they can make informed decisions about how to use SkillFit to support their goals.

Scope: In this phase, we will complete some design clean up, add Lightcast branding, and (if time allows) begin responding to any usability feedback from clients around the existing analytics features.

These should all be minor updates (big issues will carry over to future PIs).

Value to Customers & Users

By adding analytics capabilities to SkillFit, customers will be able to better understand the usage, skill insights, and regional skill landscape of SkillFit users. This will enable them to make informed decisions about how to use the tool to support their goals, such as connecting job seekers with employment opportunities or helping students find the right educational programs or developing new programs to support skill development.

Value to Lightcast

Adding analytics capabilities to SkillFit will enable us to better understand the usage and effectiveness of the tool. This will allow us to make data-driven decisions about how to improve the tool and potentially increase revenue through partnerships and premium features. Surfacing analytics will allow us to better understand the problems our clients are trying to solve with SkillFit and how they measure the success of the tool.

Target User Role/Client/Client Category

These analytics will enable us to provide insights to all SkillFit buyers and their partners who leverage SkillFit to support their goals.

Primary Buyers: Chambers of Commerce, Economic Developers, Workforce Organizations

Partners: Education Providers, Employers

Delivery Mechanism

Customers will access the analytics data through a secure dashboard on the SkillFit Admin website (SkillFit Insights).

Success Criteria & Metrics

  • The analytics capabilities are successfully added to SkillFit Insights on schedule

  • Customers are able to easily access and understand the analytics data through their authorized admin dashboard

  • Customer satisfaction with the analytics data, as measured through surveys and feedback, is at least 80%

Aspects that are out of scope (of this phase)

  • Adding Pendo Analytics to SkillFit Insights dashboard

PART 2

Solution Description

Early UX (wireframes or mockups)

<FigmaLink>

Non-Functional Attributes & Usage Projections

  • The analytics dashboard should be responsive and accessible on all devices and browsers primarily focused on desktop.

  • The analytics data should be secure and only accessible to authorized users.

  • The analytics capabilities should be able to handle the expected volume of data and traffic.

Dependencies

  • The development of the analytics capabilities is dependent on the availability of user data and the ability to track user activity and gather skill insights within SkillFit.

  • The analytics dashboard will eventually require a new database (Profiles API) to store and display the data (scalability concern).

Legal and Ethical Considerations

Have you thought through these considerations (e.g. data privacy) and raised any potential concerns with the Legal team?

Yes, we have considered legal and ethical considerations such as data privacy and will be working with the Legal team to ensure compliance.

High-Level Rollout Strategies

  • Team will begin to surface SkillFit profile insights to the SkillFit Insights tool using MUI template theme for UI/UX.

  • Initial results will be tested with current clients, CS, Marketing and Sales.

  • Feedback/comments will be taken into consideration as we build out a complete dashboard.

  • The analytics capabilities will be rolled out to all customers upon launch.

Risks

  • There is a risk that tracking user activity and gathering skill insights data may be more complex than anticipated, causing delays in the rollout of the analytics capabilities.

  • There is also a risk that customer satisfaction with the analytics data may be lower than expected.

Open Questions

  • How will the analytics dashboard display the skill insights data in a way that is easy for customers to understand and use?

  • Will the analytics capabilities require any additional server resources or infrastructure?
